The Nads Documentary — experience design, apparel design, brand identity, social media, art direction, and more for a hockey documentary 5 years in the making.

"Scrotie," the informal mascot of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), is widely recognized for its unconventional nature—a large red penis crafted from latex and fabric. The sports teams named after this mascot are among the most recognizable aspects of RISD for many.

THE NADS DOCUMENTARY pays homage to RISD’s Nads hockey team, co-directed by Zoe Lee and Lindsay Ju, and produced by a talented team of current students, alumni, and professors. As a celebration of the Providence community, it premiered its first cut at the Narragansett Brewery on May 2nd, 2024.

We set out to design an identity that celebrates the Nad’s storied past and the films off-beat spirit, while building connections to a wider Providence community through a Narragansett Beer collaboration. Buy merchandise here!
